I can see how easy it would be to become a grumpy old man. Today, a bit rushed for a Saturday, has included traffic chaos, poor customer service, light, medium and heavy rain, a lost file, a dripping and a leaking gutter plus an annoying CD player. I'm not grumpy. It just feels that it would be easy to write a post about any one of these things and make it mildly amusing. Finding the good, the soul, indeed the happy amongst the stuff of the day involves digging a bit deeper, or remembering a bit better.
There's a frog in my garden. It's that wet. It seemed happy enough. The flowers retain vibrant summer colours. We bought a new fridge and I finally found a Diesel dealer who will replace my watch-strap (by sending it back to Diesel for four weeks in fact but mustn't grumble). A trip to John Lewis means the Molton Brown is restocked so we will all smell good in Tilley Mansions again. Mrs Palin's children's names are a gas. John Lewis will sell us a printer / scanner / photocopier for the price of new ink cartridges in my current one. Tonight is free and the sermon is written (not written out but definitely finished). West Brom won't lose today.
It's good to be alive.

Mr Gnome endorses every sentence of this excellent post.
(He declines to say 'every word' as he doesn't want 'a' and 'an' to get ideas above their station.)
Those names: Track, Bristol, Willow, Piper and Trig.
Scrumptious - I'm all in favour of this trend for 'random' naming. Such fun.
But, then, I'm not obliged to stand at a font and keep a moderately straight face.
How would one cope?
