I don't believe I have lost the plot. But it seems increasingly clear that the plot has lost me. I believe I, with my team, am best equipped to lead us through this possible recession. This is no time to change administration. Older readers will recall 'Labour isn't working' in 1979 with unemployment at just over 1 million. A few years later it hit 3 million after a change of government.
If, the other side of the recession, the country is on a sound economic footing and you wish to vote us out of office, I believe that would be better than the country being in a mess. You can trust me to do my best. I put people before power.
