Sacred Space

I've had the house to myself this week as Mrs T has been away in Hereford. Whilst I love being married I do enjoy the space every now and again. I miss her terribly and enjoy her not being here, if you can make sense of that.

I have allowed my music to infect the place - it's a sort of ownership rite with me, like a dog peeing on the walls. Mrs T and I have overlapping taste but I have been celebrating the non-overlapping bits, i.e. most of it. I have changed my sleeping pattern to my preferred one (midnight - 7.45 a.m.). I have eaten when I was hungry rather than planning a meal to fit the two of us being in the house together. I guess I have eaten a bit more meat than usual. Liz doesn't eat it. I have watched the football programmes when they were on instead of on video. I haven't tidied up the second I made a mess.

She's back tomorrow. Fantastic.

I know exactly what you mean... when Lou goes away I do the same things :) Incidentally if you still have control of the remote, The Youth international (England V Wales) is on Sky Sports1 tonight from Telford... I have to go suited and booted tonight to greet VIPs!

Is this part of your strategy for staying married for 30 years?

I can completely relate to what you say about music. When I have the house to myself I crank up the volume on the Smiths, New Order, Deacon Blue, all the non-overlapping stuff. I think we just have 2 bands in common at the mo'!

Non-overlapping musical taste is tricky. Constantly find car radio on Classic FM, which has to terminated within 30 secs of switch-on, of course.

Now, where did I put the marillion album...
