It is Chelsea versus Liverpool and Joe Cole is through on goal. As he skips past Jamie Carragher the Liverpool defender produces a handgun from his shorts and fires at Cole, severing his leg just below the knee. Stumbling in shock and agony Cole manages to hop into the ball and places it into the net with his remaining leg. What is your decision?
The answer is an indirect free kick against Chelsea for unsporting behaviour - in this case failing to wear the correct equipment. Joe Cole must not interfere with play once a boot has been removed until such time as it is replaced. He should be cautioned.
It is apparently an unofficial FA ruling that Jamie Carragher cannot commit an offence in his own penalty area.
