Economics
I may be seeing things too much through my Guardian-reader eyes but is it not the case that almost every prophecy about national finances made by Liberal spokesman Vince Cable has come true. Many of the things he has suggested doing have eventually been done by the government (only a bit later than he thought necessary). When he speaks in the Commons people seem to listen to him with respect. I'm not conned, I'm convinced.

I had the privilege to hear Margaret Legum, author of 'It Doesn't Have to Be Like This' (Global economics: a new way forward) before she died, her insight helped even me understand a little of the complexities of global finances, and to see where it has been unsustainable.
