Ken Dodd tribute joke

What a wonderful day ladies and gentlemen. What a time of year to take the Advent wreath off the front door, sail it out to sea and back and throw it on the shore. After all, 'Tis the season to beach holly'.

Ken Dodd's not dead or anything, I just woke up with a new joke; please have it as a gift for any Christmas preaching.

When I was at school our favourite tongue twister was 'Ken Dodd's Dad's dog's dead.'

but pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassseee use it only once. I've finally got to the point after just over a year with a certain couple of preaching persons where I'm starting to get the odd joke repetition, or the odd illustration from a popular current film based on a book. Actually, the annoying thing is when they use it, then someone at the cathedral uses it, and then they use it again. Actually, this might be slightly mis-directed here, sorry steve, you're not a great offender yet (or at least I don't think so), please don't become one.
