I wonder how it really felt to come out on that balcony and gesture to the crowd? Most people on balconies have cups to wave in triumph. No self-respecting 78 year old with a heart condition (good way to ensure Catholic continuity) could wave a clenched fist now could they? Or shout 'Yes'.
