Good Morning China

Normally I am woken by Mrs T, heading off to work anytime between 6.45 and 7.15. She brings me coffee. If she leaves earlier than 6.45 then she doesn't disturb. What a gal.

Generally I read in bed for a bit and drink the coffee, but this week I have the Olympic bug bad. I take the coffee straight down to the lounge (no TV in our bedroom and never shall there be) and watch sport in which I'm not normally interested. Today a boxing semi-final, a BMX race, beach volleyball and Tai Kwondo.

My year has cycles of this - golf, snooker, darts - just for a few days each year. How will next week work without Hazel and Adrian's company? The prospect is a horrible one. I shall have to start medalling in something else.

Delighted the blogger spell-checker doesn't like medalling. Long may it continue. Trouble is, it couldn't help me with my martial arts either.

The cheery, early-morning provision of coffee in bed seems to me a tip-top example of marital arts.

I agree with you 100% Steve, although no coffee awaits me when I make it to the sofa! Who will keep me company as I munch my cheerios next week?!

The only good thing about the end of the Olympics is that perhaps I will no longer be a TV addict, I'm sure I've watched more hours in the past 10 days than I have in the previous 10 months
