Mick's Metaphors

I've quite often got on a soapbox and blown my own trumpet about mixed metaphors. Radio 4's Today programme guests seem to produce the most interesting verbal pictures. Recently, 'We're standing on the precipice of a runaway train,' was quite preposterously brilliant. 'The last throw of the dinosaur' was even better.

So big up to Bob for a wonderful weekend's teaching and training; but this blog is not concerned with that for the moment. Oh no. This is the place to salute, 'When you've got bees in your bonnet they tend to grow.'

Go figure.

My faves:

'The author leads us through a minefield of hot potatoes.'

'The Christian life is never plain sailing: things keep coming along to derail us.'
