Congratulations to Dave and Su Gatward on the arrival of Elijah. He obviously has the capacity to dream whilst the rest of the world gets on with the work. Wonder which set of genetic material was responsible for that?And how sensible a birthday is 31st January? It took my mind back 27 years to a conversation with my boss at Eagle Star Insurance where I worked then.
'Steve,' said boss, 'You can have as much paternity leave as you want as long as you are in to do the returns on the last day of the month.' With a crashing sense of lord knows what Liz went into labour at 6.00 a.m on 31st January 1980 and our first child was born ten hours later leaving Liz and the end of month returns in tatters.
Anyway welcome to an almost another Elijah Wood. Have a fantastic life.
