Letter to the Editor

Wrote this to the Observer last week but they didn't publish it:

The advantages of having a microchip implanted in your arm ('This chip makes sure you always buy your round' 16/1/05) include, 'By the time you walk through the door to the bar, your favourite drink is waiting for you and the bar staff can greet you by name.' This service is already available to me in my local and surgery was unnecessary.
