A selection of randon thoughts for this Friday morning.
Desert Island Discs seemed to be featuring a fine, upstanding Christian woman. I play a little game of missing the introduction and then trying to work out who on earth the guest is. Didn't manage it today as the first record chosen was the Skye Boat Song played on the harp. That desert island needs a fifty mile exclusion zone. Quickly replaced it with Traffic playing 'Sometimes I Feel So Uninspired' off the 1973 live album, 'On The Road.' Feel better now.
Current top 8
1. Drummer Man by Tonight (1977)
2. Fall Down by Toad the Wet Sprocket (1994)
3. Sensual Thing by The Four of Us (1993)
4. Light Up or Leave Me Alone (Live) by Traffic (1973)
5. Woke Up This Morning (Acoustic) by The Alabama 3 (2003)
6. Cacka Boom by Ian Dury and the Blockheads (1998)
7. Imitaton of Life by REM (2001)
8. Po-jama People by Frank Zappa (1975)
Found a lovely quote in yesterday's Independent. Paul Vallely quotes Benjamin Franklin as saying, 'Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.' In which case lager is proof of the existence of Satan.
