Hint for Coping with Life 27

Hint for coping with life number 27. Spend time with stimulating people. Your friends are probably OK but because they are your friends they will be people you spend time with even if they are not being stimulating. Make a point of having lunch with folks who don't rear away from a conversation as soon as it gets edgey. Outrageous thinking and statements of opinion which end up being revised in the light of conversation are fine.

We are reading Rick Warren's 'The Purpose Driven Life' as a church Lent book. Or Purpose Drivel Life as my friend calls it.

Today's lunchtime stimulating thought was that the jazz-centred life is better. Keep Jesus as the root note and find where he is and come back to him, then everything will be tuneful and your life will be ordered but gloriously improvised. It will neither be purposeful nor driven. Who needs purpose? It's about being, not doing, and certainly not driven. Thank you.
