Managed to talk to Graham Taylor. Note use of Christian name to suggest mateyness. Totally bogus. Me not him. He had been away on an eighteenth century boat out in the North Sea for a few days as a cross between a break and research for a future book. He was kind enough to speak to me for ages and was really genuine. He is incredibly anxious that his book doesn't get labelled as 'a Christian book' because that way nobody will read it. I think he has avoided that so far and now nobody cares because it has passed the tipping point where people are interested in it whatever it is. He was kind and helpful to me and spoke for ages in answer to each of my questions. As I am a poor interviewer this saved me having to think of any new ones. I think I prefer telling people things to listening to them. Have to do listening with great care to avoid screwing up.
The war with Warwick District Council is hotting up. I did what they said yesterday and left my refuse in the garden rather than putting it on the road; they didn't collect it. I love these battles. How sad am I?
