The word 'blog' has only been in my life for a fortnight. I wonder what I would have thought it meant before then? It all sounds vaguely lavatorial; perhaps that is intended given its close relationship to verbal diarrhoea. Then again maybe it is to do with a log as in a Captain's Log. It is also a place to put things that don't belong anywhere else. Is it normal to have this many books with things written in them?
Scrapbook
Sermon index
Music index
Future writing notes and jottings
Travel notebook
Holiday notebook
Movie notes and jottings
Music notes and jottings
Quote books (things friends have said) four volumes
Quote books (things heard or read other than by friends) two volumes
Spiritual journal (three volumes)
Is it normal to have that many notebooks and still have to start a blog because there are some things that need to be said but won't go in any of the above? Maybe I am just proving that I am a writer even if I am not an author.
So I think my best combination, to go back to the question I sort of started with, would be:
Log Block Bog Belong
Have left four answer phone messages for G.P. Taylor.
Have started an e-mail war with Warwick District Council about refuse collection. Watch this space. Hands up if you know what 'curtilage' is, a word they used in a letter to us 'ordinary' householders of Leamington.
