Hymns

Visited another church. Made welcome. Warbly soprano choir should have been stood down some time ago. Preacher excellent.

Much to ponder, not least this line from 'Come sing the praise of Jesus' J.C.Winslow (1882-1974) (c) Mrs J.Tyrell, Mission Praise 101, sung to the tune of what I think is called the Battle Hymn of the Republic or John Brown's Body:

'He has raised our fallen manhood and enthroned it in the height.'

Try as I might I couldn't avoid the metaphor of Jesus as highly experienced sexual partner.
