Reading Bill Bryson's 'Short History of Nearly Everything'. Just blown away by how not blown away we have been in a cataclysmic event such as a massive magma extrusion or asteroid collision. Made me think of Sting's song Fragile. Took my next door neighbour's dog out (we are dog-sitting again) and heard a thrush singing beautifully in a tree and also discovered the blackbird nest in our garden now contains chicks. Ate breakfast in the garden. Joe (the dog) went and slept in the cellar for reasons he doesn't find easy to explain. Our house is the mirror image of our next-door neighbours' so that might be causing him a problem or two. All this in the first two hours of day - a plethora of carbon-based miracle.
I'm going to have a go at inserting a picture here. Let's see how I get on.
