I've had the movie
Following in my in-tray of films to watch for a while now. It's only 70 minutes long and was Christopher Nolan's (
Memento,
Insomnia) directorial debut back in 1999. It is a black and white thriller about a writer, Bill, who researches a story by following people but ends up following someone who notices. Many scenes appear out of sequence - Bill begins sporting a black eye long before we see the scene in which he gets it. It is well constructed, tightly plotted, brilliantly acted and not easy to guess. Recommended.
